MSEPS has established an Electronic Medical Record (EMR)Task Force in order to assess and address the EMR needs of ophthalmologists in Massachusetts.Our EMR needs are unique in this region and from other specialties. The EMR Task Force is charged with a) assessing the functions of major EMR vendors that are pertinent to ophthalmologists; b) serving as a candid and independent source of specialty specific information on EMRs for our membership and theorganizations regulating our EMR status and; c) encouraging improvements from EMR vendors specific to ophthalmology.
The first major action by the EMR Task Force is to survey our MSEPS membership regarding their EMR status, experience and needs. once this survey is completed, the Task force can target the evaluation of EMR vendors of greatest interest to our membership and address the concerns indicated in the survey.
